The Metronome of Us....

We spent our lives as separate lines,

Two vectors crossing in the dark,

Unaware of hidden, grand designs,

Or how a phrase could strike a spark.

You were the moon, serene and high,

Bending the tides inside my chest,

A sudden tilt across the sky,

That laid my restless world to rest.

It started with a muted phrase,

A half-step taken in the rain,

A lingering glance amidst the haze,

That rewrote every old refrain.

No fireworks or grand design,

Just your warm hand replacing mine.

Now in the quiet morning glow,

Where ink maps out the paths we chose,

We watch the gentle rhythms flow,

And see how love naturally grows.

It lives within the midday pause,

The silent breath before you speak,

Defying every physics law,

With every cadence that we seek.

So let the outside engine roar,

And let the frantic minutes fly,

We found our peace behind this door,

Beneath an undivided sky.

The world may rush its final page,

And race to get the story read,

But we will linger on this stage,

And live the words we left unsaid.....

.....In a world that constantly demands our acceleration, true love acts as a beautiful, grounding anchor. "The Metronome of Us" is a poetic exploration of how two separate lives can slow down their individual tempos to find a shared, comforting cadence together. Pour yourself a warm cup of tea, settle into a quiet space, and enjoy this short reflection on the invisible rhythms that tie our hearts together.
